The strong, incredible story of boxing legend Lennox Lewis gets the big-screen treatment in this involving little documentary.
Lewis — an Olympic athlete with a consistently-professional pedigree — is chronicled from his humble beginnings to the fame he now enjoys.
The man is a hero who has roots in Britain, Jamaica and the U.S., and he’s proud of who he is and where he comes from. It’s amazing to see where he came from to become one of the all-time great boxers.
Directors Seth Koch and Rick Lazes gives a sensitive eye to the story, and their decision to not over-dramatize his life leads to a heartfelt film.
Narrated by Dr. Dre, who lends some professionalism and reverence to the subject, Lennox really gets a chance to shine. With interviews from Mike Tyson, Lennox’s family and more, we really get a picture of who the man is, and why he deserves our respect.
