DVD REVIEW: Hotel Mumbai should have been enjoyed on the big screen

In this special post, I’m going to talk about a VVS release that, if only I had the time, I should have seen on the big screen.

Hotel Mumbai is one of the most transformative, intricate and well-plotted films of the year.

Based on the real-life hostage situations at hotels in Mumbai in the 1990’s, this mostly chronicles the struggles of staff and patrons at the Taj Hotel.

As staff risk their lives to keep guests safe, and everyone bands together to get out alive, this is, by far, one of the best tearjerkers I’ve seen this year.

An under-appreciated gem, this BluRay release has perfect, crisp picture and great sound quality.

With standout performances from Slumdog Millionaire’s Dev Patel, Armie Hammer and a strong ensemble, this is one you have to check out now that it’s on digital.

You won’t regret it. Hotel Mumbai is a clear triumph.
